Seasonal Jane Beauty Bar
Our seasonal soaps are handcrafted in the same way as our beauty bars but are offered in seasonal varieties. Snap these up before they go!
Jane Beauty Bars are handcrafted cold-pressed soaps made with a few simple ingredients. Every batch contains all-natural, skin-loving vegetable oils and butters, and is scented with phthalate-free fragrance oils. Nourishing clays, oatmeal, milks and honey will leave your skin beautifully cleansed and conditioned. Our soaps do not contain any petroleum ingredients or harmful chemicals commonly found in manufactured soaps and body washes. Each bar is lovingly made in small batches and hand-cut to weight approximately 130 g (4.5 oz). These soaps will last a long time when kept dry between uses.
A word about “glycerin rivers” and “crackling” in soap: Glycerin is a natural by-product of saponification, the chemical reaction that creates soap. Normally, the glycerin is dispersed throughout a bar, however, in the case of glycerin rivers, it collects together and creates a crackling or rivers effect. It adds cleansing properties and attracts moisture to the skin so it stays hydrated. In short, glycerin is one of the things that makes handmade soap so amazing!
A word about soda ash in soap: Cold processed soap can create an uneven, white, ashy film on soap bars. Soda ash forms when unsaponified lye reacts with naturally-occurring carbon dioxide in the air. It doesn’t affect the final bars and the soap is safe to use.
